The Hybrid Hunter II is an upgrade to the Long Range Power House Hybrid Hunter, We took a few ounces off the overall package and broadened the base to increase stability using the Avella 501 Fluid Head. The Hybrid Hunter II Handgun Rest is at home on the range, but really shines in the field. Featuring a telescoping handle allowing the handgun hunter to quickly maneuver the heavy-duty fluid head. The Hybrid Hunter II is all about adding stability and increasing accuracy and consistency for the shooter. The fine adjustment handle is a high-end mountain bike grip giving the handgun hunter ultimate control and world-class ergonomics. I was looking for a rest suitable for hunting from a enclosed, elevated blind. Having more than one point of contact was very important to me in my search. Only practice from a chair/seated position so far. Seems much more steady than the barrel resting on a sand bag.

I have hunted with a S&W 460 and Nosler Independence for years but had not found a rest that was worth using. The tripods are bulky and difficult to use with a pistol scope, the monopod was terribly unstable, and the bipod required the use of a turkey seat. I gave the Hybrid Hunter a try last month and have been very impressed. It is obvious that the designer hunts with handguns himself because it has everything the others lack. Paired with the suggested monopod (I think it was $30) it is a lethal set up. I can very comfortably shoot my nosler 100 yards from a standing position and keep every round inside of 3 inches. I am not a fantastic shooter, either. The group gets even tighter when seated. The only down side I can see is it can be difficult to use both hands on a heavy recoiling pistol and could require the base to be tightened down which would inhibit your ability to track a target. I think 44mag and down would be just fine but 454 and up might be tough. A locking base would be better for those pistols. Overall I would (and have) recommend this rest to anyone who hunts with a pistol. It is an excellent design.

I watched your how to videos about using a monopod with the Trifecta. I bought the monopod and applied your instruction from the video. The trifecta set up with a mono pod is extremely stable and I am very accurate with it. When I purchased the Trifecta I was a little skeptical but I’m not now. I can’t wait until deer season.
